Taking Care Resilience News
a Monthly, free newsletter to support Caregivers
Taking Care Resilience News is important information about sustainable caregiving...because if YOU fall, there will be two of you who need care. My story may be a bit different than your caregiving story, but the stressors, hit us the same.
It's tricky balance but caregiving could also sustain you, if you also care for yourself.
Many of us (most of us) do not take as good a care of ourselves, as we do of our loved ones–those family members, friends, or partners who are in our care.
Nature's balance has always been a see-sawing equilibrium; but anything worth doing is worth a little chaos, right? Life gets a bit messy, and then it changes.
We can respond or react to what shows up in our laps (or follows us home...). Is it the 'inner teacher' or the 'inner child" who is driving this bus?

Here's the audio INTRODUCTION to the Begin Again.
My eleven-year caregiving experience began my encore career as a hospice chaplain and the good life that fits who I am now. Early on, that fit was not MY story. I was living another's story. When she and her story fell into my care, it was overwhelming. I got angry. I felt guilty. It was a confusing soup in which I found myself swimming. Caregiving is a mystifying soup of bafflement and change. But nobody else was there to do it for me...and, besides, it was mine to do. She was my mother.
